We will take a slow drive crossing through the Chianti area with its stretches of vineyards and olive tree groves . Also, in harmony with nature the typical Tuscan farmhouses with terra-cotta roofs are scattered all over this territory. The landscape is amazing with cypresses, castles, small enchanting villages, farms and renaissance villas half hidden amongst the trees of the small woods, which dot the landscape. Usually i plan many stops to your leisure for photos.
Once at Greve in Chianti, the “Gateway to Chianti”, you will be seduced by its lovely square, Wandering under the arches of this square, you can pay a visit to the ancient butcher, where you will find charming little shops with Chianti souvenir, leather goods and ceramics shops. You can relax with a drink and people watch.
I will be there on hand to help you and advise.
Our wine tour goes on to the small traditional villages of Volpaia and Panzano. Here we will stop for lunch. I will recommend a typical Tuscan lunch or a tasting of the local deliciousness. It will be my pleasure to entertaining you with culture and tradition of this fascinating living area.
After a short while we will be arriving at Castle di Brolio, We enter the castle accompanied by a tour guide who will explain the interesting history of the region. We’ll also see more peaceful instruments used by Baron Bettino Ricasoli for his wine making experiments. Baron Bettino, was the first person to define the Chianti wine making while studying in 1871. Many of his concepts are still in use to the present day.
Here you can still look at many tracks reporting the battles between Florence and Siena. The castle is surrounded by typical Italian gardens, A wonderful scenery from the medieval walls wait for us. On a sunny and clear day we have the chance to see Siena on the horizon! Finally, we will visit the cellars and sample the excellent wines tasting of Ricasoli, Chianti, Chianti Reserve and Super Tuscan. Ricasoli is one of the first medieval wine producers to export their fine wines throughout the known world. At about 4.30pm our Wine tour in Brolio castle ends. Hoping that this fantastic experience in one of the oldest castles of the wine regions remain joyfully in your mind.
