Aboard our 8 passenger, air conditioned van, this fantastic tour twill bring you in Siena it will be our first stop It is considered the second most beautiful town in Tuscany (after Florence) with its typical red bricked buildings, enchanting cathedral and well-known Piazza del Campo, where every year the famous Palio of Siena takes place. In Siena, you will enjoy the traditional sweets and desserts of the region. in the famous Siena that is located on three little hills. Siena is a Gothic town considered one of the most amazing medieval places all over Italy. Its main and predominant architecture is the cathedral.
The multicoloured marble façade is dated back to the 12th century and going inside. The church’s stunning interior includes the Pulpit of Niccolò Pisano. It is really unique and it was unfortunately never finished. We surely cannot avoid taking a look at Piazza del Campo, the shell shaped square, where twice a year the well-known Palio of Siena occurs. It is dated back to 1283 and it was originally a riding carousel for the Roman trooper’s line-up.
Siena is rich in beautiful and breath-taking ancient palaces. You will be enchanted discovering this area! Time permitting, I will suggest another point of interest: the church of Santa Caterina, the procuress of Siena.
Our last stop could be in any pastry shop to taste the sweet specialties of Siena: panforte (nougat-type delicacy), panpepato (a type of gingerbread), ricciarelli. Our tour continues through the green Tuscan hills on the gently winding road to arrive San Gimignano also called (Medioevol Mahanttan town )which is one of the most beautiful and picturesque medieval villages in Tuscany and it is preserved in a very rare way.

We will depart from Siena to reach San Gimignano, UNESCO World Heritage Site starting from 1990. This little jewel emerges on the hills, thanks to its famous 13 towers, which have earned it the prestigious title of Manhattan of the Middle Ages. The village of San Gimignano overlooks the entire charming valley rich in vineyards and olive trees and the city walls dated back to the 13th century, which frame this little amazing hamlet.
There is a french pilgrim road that connects Rome crossing this village. Walking up to San Gimignano, we reach the famous Piazza della Cisterna, built in 1237. What attracts our attention are the aristocratic palaces of the Ardinghelli family, along with the Tortolli building with the Torre Mozza and Piazza del Duomo. Once we reach the pillbox (it was built by the Florentines in the 15th century) just nearby the fortress ruins, you can enjoy a really breath-taking view! In front of you will be the scenic view of the Tuscan hills where the vineyards reign. This is the wine area of Vernaccia white wine. You can’t miss the opportunity to have a glass of Vernaccia.
.
Last stop with our fantastic tour while tasting good wine and specialities of this area .We can stop in a farm to relax after this beautifull day to visit a winery sughere they produce Vernaccia, having a tasting of this local wine. It’s now time for us to leave Siena with its beauty and its great history. Our tour in Siena and San Gimigniano ends here.
